Sharing Stories member Joanna Cheng took her fundraising efforts to new heights in July 2016 by tackling a Three Peaks challenge – climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon in 72 hours.
After a 5 hour drive to the Highlands to camp, Joanna and her partner summited Ben Nevis, a mere 1346m, in an excellent 3hrs and 20mins (well below the average of 4hrs 30mins). Despite the cardiovascular torture they jumped in the care and headed to Scafell Pike which at only 978m is the lowest of the peaks (but also the steepest). Despite heavy fog and strong winds they got to the top in 2hrs 20, again ahead of the average time of 3hrs!
Their last climb up Snowdon in Wales (1085m) was in heavy rain but they said they enjoyed it anyway – once more getting up in 2hrs and 20 mins. Together they raised an amazing £700 for Sharing Stories!
